You've got to get in shape before you can get in shape...
High School Water Polo season is just a few weeks away and hopefully everyone is in great shape to push the limits this year. The procrastinators have little more than a week to get your strength and conditioning up to speed for the long practices ahead as well as prepare mentally for the new school year.
For incoming freshman you should be getting your cardio up to speed (daily running or swimming) as well as get yourself prepared for the endless push-ups and sit-ups and leg work that will accompany the early season dryland training.
Everyone should be getting their nutrition in check with plenty of protein and fruits and vegetables. Carry a water bottle with you everywhere and drink as much as you can to rehydrate (2/3 ounces of water per pound of body weight per day).
Remember that water polo should be fun and that you have to be willing to make mistakes to grow as a player. Good luck to everyone this season!

hey this is deven. the blog is good. i think the only thing i need to work on is my diet. i should eat a little bit more and should have more proteins and carbs.
